At Rose Bay Medical Clinic we provide the highest quality medical care in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.  A trusting, long-term relationship with a GP is the best way to ensure you receive consistent, quality healthcare throughout your life. Our appointment times are longer, so we have the opportunity to be thorough and have proper discussions with you about your care. We are also proud to be an independent, locally owned and operated practice.

Our team of GPs including both male and female GP's are supported by a number of allied health practitioners. We also have a registered practice nurse on every day during the week as well as on-site DHM Pathology on Wednesday and Friday mornings. We are also open on Saturdays and open on Sundays.

Our standard appointment times are 20 min but please feel free to book for longer if you wish.

Our practice is an accredited General Practice

  • Make a list of all the things you want to ask your GP about so you don’t forget anything
  • Be open and honest. Everything you tell your GP is kept confidential
  • Don’t be afraid to ask embarrassing questions, your GP is trained to answer them!
  • If you’ve done some of your own research on the internet before seeing your GP and you’re worried about what it says, print it off and show your GP
  • If you have lots of items you wish to discuss with your GP in one visit, book a longer appointment so neither of you feel rushed
  • If your GP isn’t familiar with your medical history, ensure you let them know about any prior illnesses or family history that may be relevant to your visit.

Fees

In order to run a quality practice that provides the best medical care and gives you more face to face time with your GP, we charge a gap fee in addition to the medicare rebate for all patients from 10 and over (Children under 10 are charged for Saturday and Sunday appointments). Please note that if you request a double appointment for your child, you will be charged a full fee for the appointment. Dr Lindsay charges a $45 gap fee for all patients under 10. All the other doctors bulk bill children under 10 years old for standard length appointments.

The gap fee will vary depending on the type of consult you have, but will usually be between $50 and $80. At the end of the consultation we will ask you to pay the gap fee plus the medicare fee and the medicare fee can then be refunded into your bank account on the spot or the refund will take place within 24 hours into your bank account if your bank account is linked with medicare. For appointment cancellations of 2 business opening hrs or less from the appointment time or "no shows", the patient will be charged a $40 cancellation fee (ie. cancellations via sms after 6pm for appointments before 10am the next day will also be charged a cancellation fee). Appointments missed or cancelled on the weekend will incur a $90 charge.

Results

At Rose Bay Medical Clinic, we respect our patients' confidentiality and know the importance of test results. This is why it is our policy not to discuss your test results via the telephone. If your doctor requires tests as part of your treatment, it is best to make a follow-up appointment with the doctor to discuss the results. If you do not make a follow-up appointment, please be aware that your doctor may ask one of our staff to call you to suggest making an appointment to discuss urgent or non-urgent results.

Communication with doctor

Doctors are busy seeing patients during the day and are therefore unable to make or take calls. Often, a staff member will be able to help with your enquiry; otherwise, messages will be relayed to the doctor and either they or a staff member will get back to you with a response later in the day when possible.

Most medical  issues are best discussed in person during an appointment with your doctor, not over the phone or via email.

If the doctor needs to discuss test results, an appointment will need to be made. A staff member will be in contact with you to organise this.

Health privacy information policy

Only medical practitioners are able to access patient medical information collected by the practice. This will not be released to third parties without patient consent. Please refer to our privacy statement for further information.

Complaints process

If you would like to make a complaint, please advise reception and they will provide you with a complaints form to be filled out. This should be returned to reception in a sealed envelope and will then be passed on to the practice manager. The practice manager will respond to your complaint within seven days as long as your name is provided.

Home Visits

We don't generally do home visits. If you require a home visit please speak to your doctor. This service is available to Rose Bay Medical Clinic patients only and appointments are subject to the doctors availability and attract additional fees.

Pathology

We have on site pathology on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8am - 12pm

Specialised ear cleaning
